Meet 2014 180 Medical Scholarship Recipient Elena

Elena was born with Spina Bifida. From the time she was 3 months old, she underwent surgeries to repair her spine. Although the surgery was successful, she cannot feel her foot or much of her leg.

Despite that, Elena maintains a positive attitude. She says her condition is also her motivation for her future career. Elena aspires to become an engineer in the biomedical or neurological field. With her future career, she hopes to help others with similar conditions.

During high school, Elena stayed active with multiple clubs and even presided as Senior Class President. Additionally, she was a part of an anti-bullying program while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She was an AP Scholar with Honors and belonged to the National Honor Society.

We’re sure Elena will go far in life, and it’s so exciting to be able to contribute a piece to Elena and all of our bright, young scholarship winners’ futures!

About the Author
Meet Elena, 2014 180 Medical Scholarship Recipient
Jessica is the Sr. Marketing Specialist at 180 Medical, and she has been with the company for 15 years. She loves getting to be creative in her role and hearing from customers about the positive impact we've made on their lives.

Outside of work, you can find her hanging out with her husband and their dogs or browsing garden centers (where she will almost certainly buy another houseplant she doesn't really need).
